@Kati remember that Jesus was persecuted and crucified because the world didn’t know Him. This is the Christian way. It’s a good sign Kati 💕 also, remember how Paul praised God for the persecutions he endured for the sake of the Kingdom. We must decrease as Jesus is increased. This is the Christian way. We are nothing, Jesus is everything. I recently learnt that testimony is originally sourced from the same word as martyr, how profound is that?!?

But I agree with everything you’ve said… and too want to be a vessel. In my subtle as a sledgehammer way, I’m actually only intending that here too.. just don’t have the tact many are blessed with!

@Daniel when we are influenced by the Holy Spirit our clothing styles will be influenced too. Let’s not use C.S. Lewis or anyone else for that matter to justify behaviour that is not aligned with Jesus. When we know what is good and choose not to do it, it’s sin. The Holy Spirit will convict us to dress modesty, when we let Him in.

Although I agree with Lewis’s sentiments as presented by CoPilot, I do not believe Lewis’ thoughts were to give us a free “get out of jail” card for continuing to live as we want and not letting ourselves become new creatures in Christ. When we let God influence us, we change so our inside selves are shown outwardly also.

I'm also in a more difficult situation atm e.g. looking for a job. Therefore and also to not distract myself and others I will stop replying here for now.

@Daniel I’m very sorry about your job situation. Thanks for the kind words.. all good. Just so it’s known, there wasn’t an ounce of judgement on a person in my mind when I wrote the post. It was not the intention. I just hope anyone reading this doesn’t feel judged. I’m only trying to encourage that we’re looking after each other on here… it really is all it is.

@Daniel Spend time with Jesus and you’ll figure out how much He values us. Then maybe you’ll understand where I’m coming from. Why did Adam and Eve cover themselves up after sin entered their lives? Do you think satan is trying to remove guilt and shame by creating counterfeit freedom in dress styles. I work in a fashion warehouse and I’ve observed how fashion has changed. Women are encouraged to wear less and less whilst men’s fashion has remained somewhat basic and stable.

During a table talk a few days ago I mentioned how it might be helpful if profile pictures didn't have pictures of alcohol or people holding alcoholic beverages in them to help brothers and sisters who may struggle with this because we are our brothers keepers and it is our duty so I fully agree with you.

@Leona Amen! I honestly scroll past the selfies and look to the Bible quotes. I came across a post and I thought it was clever because I thought it pointed to Christ, “My wedding date is getting closer and closer and I still don’t have a husband.” Turns out it was focusing on the horizontal relationship rather than our vertical one and I was sooo disappointed. It was a really profound thought before it got minimized to a secular focus…

@Leona Amen x 2. You have a purpose here Katie and your making a difference. I think that’s the small grieving moment I’m having of your potential leaving. One less person advocating the importance of Christ rather than themselves on this platform. However, I will not get in the way of what the Holy Spirit is impressing on you. Who knows, God may connect us in person? Either way, I am sure we will be able to catch up in heaven 💕 (look for the clingy koala).

@Lachlan I would be as bold as to say Christianity in general as the world is rubbing off onto us. I think it’s clearly shown in what we are posting in SALT. I say “we” because we can all fall trap to it. I’ve recently learnt some attitudes and beliefs I had that I thought were Christ-centred and were not…and have had a few… “and I oop” moments. #LukewarmVibes
