Here’s how it happened, in their own words, and in the words of the SALT team member who introduced them.
Liv and Chi’s Story
Chi and I officially went on our first date on 9th June 2025, but our story actually started back in February 2025, when I went on a SALT Third Wheel Date. While it was a cool experience, I didn’t find Mr Right.
Little did I know, Mr Chi had watched this and had contacted me through my SALT URL. Long story short, I thought that it wasn’t the right time for me to explore this further. However, turns out the Lord had more plans for us and was not done trying to get through to me.
Chi signed up to SALT’s matchmaking project and from this, my good friend Isabel matched us up. From our first video call in June 2025, we realised that this was something different.
By March 2026, we had been through a few difficult personal experiences which we had come through together and with God’s guidance, we got engaged.
We got married almost 3 weeks now — in July 2026! We can safely say that God perfectly arranged our journey down to the very last detail so that we would come together at the right time.

Isabel’s Story
Isabel runs YouTube content for SALT, and knows Liv personally from church. Here’s her side of the story, first shared at Liv and Chi’s wedding.
Fifteen months after I matched them, I was celebrating their marriage.
For a bit of context, I’m Isabel, and I run YouTube content for SALT, the Christian dating app. Part of my job is making sure our channel actually helps single Christians meet — not just talk about dating. That’s why we started Third Wheel Dates, our blind dating show, and it’s also why, through 2025, I ran a series of matchmaking experiments.
And I’m so glad we did.
Liv was on SALT, and she agreed to come on Third Wheel Dates. Her date wasn’t quite the right fit, but someone watching at home was.
Her future husband, Chi, saw the episode and messaged her through the link. Liv was kind of overwhelmed with the messages and nearly missed his completely.
But Chi didn’t stop pushing doors.
He was also on SALT, and he applied for one of my matchmaking experiments. We had a 15-minute Zoom call, and I told him I already had someone in mind. I messaged Liv to ask if she’d be open to being connected. She said yes.
Fast forward fifteen months and we were all together at their wedding.
These two had all the right foundations — real faith, strong community around them, and a willingness to keep taking steps even when it felt uncertain. I made an introduction. They did the hard work of actually building something. And God blessed and multiplied all of it.
