Single parent Christian dating comes with its own questions. When do you find the time? Who will understand your family life? Georgie was a single foster parent in Cornwall when she met John, who was working in a school in Wales. They matched on SALT in May 2024, and this July they married in a rainforest in Kenya, a place close to Georgie’s heart from her years as a missionary there. Here’s their story, in their own words.
Georgie and John’s Story
We just wanted to say a big thank you!
We met on SALT in May 2024 – I was a single foster parent in Cornwall and John was working in a school in Wales.
We got married in July in a rainforest in Kenya – somewhere I used to visit often when I was a missionary there and always thought “one day I’ll get married here!”
Thanks again!

Georgie’s story is a lovely reminder that a full life, with children to care for and a home to run, doesn’t close the door on something new. If you’re a single parent wondering whether Christian dating can fit around your family, you’re not alone. Thousands of single Christians on SALT are navigating the same thing, and there’s space for you here. Download SALT and see who you might meet.
